Abstract
This work approaches the theme: participation of children in the school life; it is the result of a research developed in two Ecuadorian educational centers through a case study. The concept of participation which presented is that it has its roots in the law, because to participate in the areas in which somebody develops contributes to the process of humanization.
By listening to the voices of boys, girls, and teachers, the documents of the institutions and the legal texts of the Ministry of Education, it is concluded that one of the main problems, that meaningfully contributes to the genuine participation of boys and girls were not possible, is the blurred legislation about the topic, in which the right and the obligatory participation in the school are mixed until finally they are merged.
