Abstract

The new Pedagogical Standards published by the Ministry of Education of Chile (2012) point out what is expected of the initial formation of teachers in the form of a set of generic competences of the teaching endeavor. But, at the same time, they imply behaviors founded in emotional competences not approached, up to now, by the formal education.
In this context, there appears the need of the formation centers to incorporate to the curriculum learning experiences oriented to the development of the human, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, so that, the future teachers would be adequately prepared to overcome the challenge of contributing effectively to the integral formation of the
