Reflexión de los Determinantes Sociales de la Conducta Sexual en Hombres que Tienen Relaciones Sexuales con Hombres
Resumen
El VIH/Sida se contagia principalmente por las relaciones sexuales sin protección, siendo más vulnerables los hombres que tienen relaciones sexuales con hombres (HSH); existen diversos factores que pueden estar determinando el riesgo a la infección.
Objetivo: Reflexionar sobre los determinantes sociales de la conducta sexual de los HSH y cómo éstos pueden ayudar a la comprensión del fenómeno de estudio y mejora del cuidado enfermero.
Desarrollo: Primeramente, se señalan los determinantes sociales, identificando las disciplinas en relación a ellos. A su vez, se realiza una jerarquización a nivel macro (género, clase social y educación), meso (cultura, religión, red social, empleo y estrés) y micro (estilos de vida, curso de vida y migración); posteriormente, la construcción de las etiquetas sociales de los HSH; y finalmente, se abordan las intervenciones sociales y de salud necesarias para la disminución de conductas sexuales riesgosas en HSH.
Conclusión: La enfermería como profesión tiene por meta brindar el cuidado a todo individuo, independientemente de sus preferencias sexuales o identidades sexuales. Es por ello, que el personal de enfermería debe incursionar en los proyectos de investigación en esta población e incluso, en el diseño o modificación de programas preventivos para reducir riesgo de ITS-VIH/Sida en los HSH.
